Purpose of the role :

Collaborates with the E&I Engineering

Responsibility :

  • Supports the PSL E&I with regard to issues and aspects related to the installation and construction, in compliance with contractual requirements, applicable regulations, project timelines and engineering progress
  • Monitors the E&I Engineering product by intervening to enforce quality requirements and details of documents useful for the Construction and its Services, specific requirements of installation and construction standards
  • If necessary, drafts Technical Query (TQ), procedures and installation philosophies for the project to apply alternative installation solutions that are more cost-effective and company construction practices or standards
  • Participates in 3D model review of the project as Site E&I Referent for what it concerns in particular E&I interfaces, installations of E&I devices and ducted routes E&I
  • Identifies or defines minimum technical characteristics and peculiarities of the material to be use on the project and in charge of the E&I Department of the Construction Site for purchase, highlighting any limitations (Vendor List). Drafts or participates in the drafting of the « E&I Design Basis » document or other summary, in collaboration with the project E&I LDPs and makes sure of its sharing within its own Department by highlighting any undeclared criticalities
  • Supports E&I Field Engineering activities with priority and at the Shipyard when required and during the construction phase
  • Supports project E&I PSL in reviewing E&I Suppliers documentation for what concerns aspects related to installation and interfaces
  • Makes sure of the completeness and technical and quantitative adequacy of the MTOs also
    preliminary knowledge of the material to be purchased to be paid for by the E&I Department of the Construction Site and the their issuance in time for the project. Verifies that MTOs are taken care of by the
    Purchasing Service of the E&I Department of the Shipyard to which they belong and if necessary, collaborates with the latter in the pre/post order phase in defining the technical aspects of supplies. If necessary, coordinates the polishing of the Red Line Mark Up (RLMU) of the Construction Site in revision “As Built”
  • Ensures continuous information to its operations Manager on the progress of their activity, reporting any critical issues of the Project that could impact the activities and planning of the Department
  • It is the E&I interface of the project for the Data Entry and Purchasing services of the Department E&I of Cantiere. Work with them to capture the latest changes in project, the purpose of supply and installation and the gap of materials in charge of the Department E&I of Building site
  • As the Department’s Main E&I Reference on the project, he supports the E&I Construction and it’s Subcontracting especially during the installation phase

Qualifications and Skills :

  • Degree in Engineering relevant to the discipline of competence or Technical Diploma
  • At least 10 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas sector, preferably Offshore, gained in the Construction field as well as in the Multidisciplinary Engineering field on EPC projects
  • In-depth knowledge of ATEX regulations and the main protection methods
  • Knowledge of the main international standards in the Oil & Gas sector
  • In-depth knowledge of the main indoor and outdoor E&I plant solutions in hazardous area and the related articles and materials necessary for its construction
  • Knowledge of HILTI device support solutions and secondary cable routes, UNISTRUT and related accessories
  • In-depth knowledge of the interrelationships between the various design disciplines
