During March 2022, Atelier Redien, a workshop located in Niort, France underwent a Saqr-ATEX certification audit by Aude Mallet Chabrouillaud, ATEX & Technological Risks Manager, Auditor & INERIS Trainer at Sygma | Engineering Services.
ATEX, which stands for “Atmospheres Explosives,” refers to the European Union directive that regulates equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. This certification is a requirement for any facility or business that operates in industries such as oil and gas, chemical manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals, among others.
During the audit, not only was the workshop successfully certified, but four members of the Atelier Redien staff also received training from Aude in ATEX standards. The training sessions, which lasted between 2-4 days, included certification for a Saqr-ATEX Validation Authorized Person, guaranteeing the technicality of ATEX repairs, as well as certifying 3 Ism-ATEX Level 1 Electrical and Mechanical Personnel to intervene on site.
